The researchers also noted that skin produced more HA after injuries and determined that “HA regulates several aspects of tissue repair, including activation of inflammatory cells to enhance immune response and the response to injury of fibroblasts.”

You see, as we age, the slow loss of our natural HA not only starves skin of vital moisture — it also takes away much of its self-healing power. In fact, this same study stated that the disappearance of HA is “the most dramatic [chemical] change observed in senescent skin.”

Knowing this, I had to include hyaluronic acid as part of Renew’s design language.

These, along with the radioactive barrage from the sun, act to create a tremendous amount of free radicals — dangerously unstable molecules that damage cellular DNA and are one of the main causes of premature aging, and even conditions like skin cancer.

Worse still, most sunscreens block a key process through which exposure to the sun creates vitamin D… a powerful antioxidant capable of fighting free radicals.

With this in mind, I knew that my design language had to also teach skin how to better protect itself… so it could stand strong against the world, and be the powerful shield your body needs.

Once again, the Swiss Alps held a surprising answer.

High up in those unforgiving ranges, where freezing air and a burning mountain sun often punish the land at the same time, lives a plant known for its remarkable resilience.

Called the Globe Daisy, it’s one of the few plants that thrive in this extreme environment.

It was this unusual vitality that made it a perfect candidate for researchers looking to grant new defensive powers to human skin.

With the same method that had worked so well with the apples, a team from the French biotech company Sederma was able to formulate an extract from the Globe Daisy and test it on human cells…

…Quickly DOUBLING the number of stem cells in the sample! ⁵

And further tests showed that there was much more it could do than simply increase stem cell activity.

Most important for my purposes, and for adding to the Renew SCII design language, it turns out this daisy extract also instructs skin to ramp up production of Superoxide Dismutase or SOD — the most powerful “super antioxidant” known to man.

Boosting your skin’s SOD production with this extract means it can fight off the free radicals caused by our toxic environment just as well, or even better, than it did back in its prime.

One other instruction the daisy gives to your skin, is to produce more sirtuin-1, a “longevity protein” involved in regulating skin metabolism and cellular lifespan.

Altogether, this little flower’s extract is so effective, that even cigarette smokers who participated in the original tests, saw significant positive changes to their skin quality.

With this skin defender in place, next I looked for ways to teach your skin how to regain the flawless lift and firmness of youth, which led me to…

A “Smart Nutrient” for Firmer Skin

I’d recently heard that researchers looking to boost brain function had stumbled onto the remarkable skin lifting properties of one of their “smart compounds.”

This molecule, called Dimethylaminoethanol — and shortened DMAE — helps cells stay “cleaner” by removing a certain type of molecular waste called lipofuscin, which contributes to many age-related problems.

Like a tiny cellular maid, DMAE goes directly into cells and tidies up their mess. Taking out the trash and making sure everything inside stays nice and clean.

Letting cells be younger, longer.

What’s more, not only does it help cells stay younger… it also acts as a powerful cell membrane stabilizer.

The study’s researchers further stated that “beneficial trends were noted in the appearance of coarse wrinkles, under-eye dark circles, nasolabial folds, sagging neck skin, and neck firmness” and even declared that “the acute skin-firming effects of DMAE have been confirmed.”

It’s rare to see so much praise for a single compound, but there’s little doubt in my mind DMAE deserves it.

But while this powerful molecule works magic on your skin’s lift and tightness, I still wanted to infuse even more protective power into Renew SCII.
